Dr. Michelle Herlihy graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She completed her animal chiropractic education at Options for Animals in 1998 and maintains active certification through the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). Acupuncture training was at the Chi Institute in Florida while simultaneously working in rehabilitation at TOPS in 1999 and 2000. Dr. Herlihy has over ten years experience with traditional and alternative veterinary medicine. In 2008, she focused her energy to create PAWStively Balanced, Ltd., a veterinary practice devoted to alternative holisitic veterinary care for dogs and cats.
Dr. Herlihy resides in Downers Grove with her husband, two young children, Crash the cat, Crooked the Border Collie, Tatsu & Suna the bearded dragons, Fire & Spot the fire belly toads and Tweety the bird. She takes a personal approach to her care for your pets, taking the time to get to know and understand each patient as if they were a pet of her own.
Dr. Herlihy’s hobbies include anything that gets her outside in the summer and a slight snowboarding addiction in the winter. She can truly relate to those dogs, and a few cats, that “have no respect for their bodies.”
Although she no longer practices traditional medicine, Dr. Herlihy believes in an integrated approach to veterinary healthcare to provide maximum benefit for the health and healing of each individual. She is delighted to work with your primary care veterinarian or multiple specialists to promote a long and happy life for your pet.
